Liberal Studies Major

The Liberal Studies major provides a broad-based liberal arts education for students seeking intellectual growth and personal change. Liberal Studies exposes students to a variety of subjects designed to establish a basis for lifelong learning and attainment of personal goals. In Liberal Studies courses, students learn communication and critical thinking skills. Students also learn to interpret human experience through studies of aesthetic, historical, ethical, and cultural foundations. Students help to design their degree by choosing courses in areas of emphasis and minors, and completing internship hours directed to employment or continuing education.

The A.A. degree in Liberal Studies provides students with an educational foundation before entering the work force or pursuing further study or professional training.

The B.A. degree in Liberal Studies provides students with a comprehensive liberal arts education to enhance employment opportunities and personal development, and to encourage a lifelong commitment to learning.
