Financial Aid
The Office of Financial Aid at Beacon College makes a variety of scholarships, grants, work opportunities, and loans available to eligible students. Parents and students are expected to make the maximum possible contribution to meet the student's educational expenses. Many students qualify for some form of financial aid and are encouraged to apply for aid by completing a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at www.fafsa.ed.gov and the Beacon College Financial Aid Application.

State Grants
Florida Resident Access Grant (FRAG)
The Florida Resident Access Grant (FRAG) provides grants to all Florida students who attend a private, post-secondary institution. Students must complete the Application for Florida Resident Access Grant and return it to the Financial Aid Office. The grant amount is determined every year by the Florida Department of Education.

Florida Student Assistance Grant (FSAG)
The Florida Student Assistance Grant (FSAG) provides grants to Florida students that have exceptional need. The amount of the grant is based on the financial need of the student and Beacon College's cost of attendance. The FAFSA application is used to determine eligibility. This grant varies every year and is awarded on a first come, first serve basis.

Federal Loans

Federal Stafford Student Loan (Subsidized and Unsubsidized)
Undergraduate students may borrow up to $3,500 for the first year (1-29 credits) and up to $4,500 in the second year (30 credits) from an approved lending agency. This loan is subject to verified financial need and not to exceed educational costs. Independent students may borrow an additional $4,000 if they qualify. Repayment begins six months after graduation, leave school, or drop below half-time enrollment, with a fixed interest rate that changes on July 1st every year.

Federal Parent Loans for Undergraduate Students (PLUS)
These loans are made to parents of college students by banks or credit unions to provide additional funds for education expenses. Repayment begins 60 days after the funds are issued. A parent may borrow up to the full cost of education, less any financial aid the student is receiving. It is the parent's responsibility to apply for Federal PLUS Loans.

Work Study Program
Beacon College provides employment opportunities on campus for students. Placement is contingent upon completion of FAFSA, student eligibility, availability of funds, and number of applicants. Funds are used to offset the cost of education. Beacon College uses the results of the FAFSA to aid in the determination of the student's award amount.
