It is my great pleasure to welcome you to the Beacon College web site. I invite you to browse through this site to discover what makes Beacon College such an incredible institution. Beacon is unique within the landscape of American higher education because it is the only accredited college offering BA and AA degrees exclusively for students with learning disabilities, ADHD, or gifted LD. While I am confident you will find this a most informative web site, what you will see in these pages provides only a snapshot of the incredible work accomplished at Beacon College in helping young people achieve their educational goals. Beacon College is privileged to have an extraordinary faculty, staff members, and administrators dedicated to academic excellence, diversity and respect for diversity, integrity, community service and social engagement, student success, and the provision of a learning environment that fosters critical thinking and self-determination. Our small class sizes, extensive educational support services, and the capacity to individualize learning opportunities substantially increase the likelihood for student success. We would be delighted to host you for a campus visit to see for yourself the great work of the Beacon College community where students thrive and progress toward the realization of their full potential. As you will see, ours is a very noble mission and one worthy of support. The College recently launched its Legacy Campaign to raise the necessary funds to enhance and expand the facilities needed to fulfill its educational mission. The first phase of this campaign will secure funds necessary for the construction of a $1.7 million academic and administrative building. Ground will be broken for this building in the spring of 2011. We would certainly welcome your generous participation in this campaign.
