The faculty, students, and staff of Beacon College explored many possibilities for the QEP. With input from the whole campus community, Beacon College selected critical thinking skill development as the focus our QEP.

Beacon College has chosen the Paul/Elder model for teaching critical thinking because it is clear, concise, and relevant to the needs of our special mission. This approach has resulted in improved critical thinking, not only in the educational domain, but also in everyday reasoning. Beacon College realizes that simply helping students receive a college degree is not enough. We provide an education that goes beyond learning about a specific discipline or subject matter. The essence of our mission is to teach students how to think critically. We believe our commitment to providing an educational environment rich in critical thinking activities, not only prepares our graduates for success in the workplace, but also assists them in realizing their ultimate potential. |
