Your Gifts to Beacon College Provide Students with Real Opportunities and Real Resources

Beacon College is proud of its tradition providing educational opportunities for students with learning disabilities.

The mission of Beacon College is to offer academic degree programs to students with learning disabilities.

Beacon College is the only accredited four year college in the country offering baccalaureate programs solely for students with learning disabilities. As a young institution, with a small alumni base, the College is seeking support to further the mission of the Institution. Please consider making a gift to Beacon College that will enhance any of the following initiatives:

Beacon College Scholarship Programs
Facilities Development
Library and Technology Infrastructure
Faculty Development
Educational Support and Student Services Programs

Beacon College Admissions Offices
Originally a folk victorian style home built in 1877,
it was carefully renovated by Beacon College
in 2007. It is the third building on campus to win
the Leesburg Partnership Historic
Preservation Award.

Thank you for your consideration of a gift to an institution that is committed to advancing the education of students who are determined to achieve their academic potential and personal goals.

Ways to Support
Excellence in Education

Securities and Mutual Funds
Giving appreciated stock is a popular way of minimizing tax consequences for investments that have grown over the years. The combination of income tax savings and the avoidance of capital gains tax makes a gift of appreciated stock a compelling option for many.

Another increasingly popular way to give to Beacon College, while potentially saving on taxes, is to donate shares of mutual funds. Gifts of securities and mutual funds can offer special charitable opportunities for friends of Beacon College. For more information please consult your personal financial advisor.

Matching Gifts
Many companies match philanthropic gifts to educational institutions from their employees, retirees and family members. Matching gifts can double or even triple your gift to Beacon College. To initiate a matching gift, obtain the appropriate form from your, and/or your spouse's employer. Complete the form, and send it along with your donation to the Office of Institutional Advancement.

Gifts in Kind
Beacon College accepts gifts in kind that are appropriate to its mission. The United States Tax Code encourages individuals to donate real or personal property to non-profit institutions like Beacon College. We invite you to review your inventory of personal assets and consider the option of a non-cash gift to the College. Gifts in kind may include, but are not limited to, artwork and antiques, current technological equipment, books, real estate, etc. For further information please contact the Office of Institutional Advancement.

Personal Property/Real Estate
Outright gifts of appreciated real property such as a personal residence, vacation home, or other real estate such as real estate mutual funds, not only help the College, but also offer tax advantages to the donor. You receive philanthropic credit and a charitable deduction for the full fair market value of the property as determined by a qualified appraisal.

Planned Gifts
A long term planned gift may be the best way to make a gift from an estate, financial, and tax planning perspective. This can be accomplished in a number of ways including gifts in memory or in honor of individuals, life insurance you may no longer need for the protection of your family, charitable remainder trusts, gift annuities and bequests. For more information on planned giving, please contact the Office of Institutional Advancement.

Pledges
Pledges enable a donor to plan a personal giving program that is both convenient and "tax wise." A pledge may enable you to consider a more significant gift than would have been otherwise possible. Terms for payment on pledges are flexible and are at the option of the donor. Contact the Office of Institutional Advancement for more information about making a pledge.
