Owens received an Award of Distinction in the Printed Tools of Public Relations division for the Season 3 Beacon Salon Speaker Series brochure. The award goes to entries “that meet the standards of excellence set by a panel of judges,” according to the FPRA.
According the entry summary, “The Beacon Salon Speaker Series Season Three brochure promotes the engaging, engrossing, and edifying free community education program presented by Beacon College, a Leesburg, Fla.baccalaureate liberal arts institution dedicated to educating neurodivergent students. The brochure was developed to boost series attendance and deepen the college’s potential donor pool.”
The annual Image Awards competition recognizes PR practitioners in their home markets for outstanding public relations tools and programs. Entries must integrate sound public relations research and planning and meet the highest standard of production, execution and evaluation of results and budget.
Owens said the award not only highlighted his promotional efforts, but the good work of the college.
“Because of social distancing, the Mid-Florida Image Awards was a virtual affair, but seeing my name on the screen was a real reminder to thank God for placing me in position to serve somewhere with such a fantastic mission as Beacon College,” he said.
