His presentation, “Factors Contributing to Poor Retention for Students with Learning Differences,” was selected as “Best of Region” for NACADA Region 4 at the 2021 Virtual Region 7 and Region 4 Conference.
Morris-Wood has accepted the invitation to deliver his presentation in-person at the 2021 NACADA Annual Conference, October 6-9, 2021 in Cincinnati, Ohio.
“When presenting, my goal is for participants to leave with tools, resources, and innovative ways of thinking; so this was this honor shows the need to have continued conversation about the experience of students with learning differences in college,” Morris-Wood said. “More so, it demonstrates that professionals in the field are eager to learn more, and being a member of this community allows us to share our experience, expertise, and perspectives on how change can be conducted within higher education to alter post-secondary outcomes for college-bound students.”
NACADA (National Academic and Advising Association) promotes and supports quality academic advising in institutions of higher education to enhance the educational development of students. NACADA provides a forum for discussion, debate, and the exchange of ideas concerning academic advising through myriad activities and publications. NACADA also advocates for effective academic advising by providing a consulting and speaker service and funding for research related to academic advising.
