In this role for the College, Gore oversees accounting, budgeting, banking, payroll, audit, and investment functions of the institution. In addition, he oversees the management of the campus bookstore.

“We’re excited to welcome Dr. Gore in this senior-level position for the College that is fundamental to strengthening and safeguarding our hard-earned organizational momentum, advancing our mission, and helping to grow our institution,” said Dr. George J. Hagerty, Beacon president.

He replaces the retiring Sandi Rysell, who became the College’s finance and accounting director in 2016 before ascending to CFO in 2021.

Gore is an accomplished financial executive in higher education with a solid track record of leading improvement and collaborative reform. He is skilled in translating financial information for the understanding and benefit of the full array of community audiences. Prior to his appointment at Beacon, Gore served as vice president for business and finance at Southwestern Assemblies of God University, where he managed a number of areas including accounting, human resources, information technology, payroll, business services, student billing, financial aid, security, and Title IX as well as outsourced facilities and food service functions.

His goals include ensuring “that Beacon College conducts itself in a financially responsible manner, whether in its operations, its reporting, or in its planning,” he said, and making “ financial matters clear and understandable — so that our students, parents, board members, and our own employees are comfortable with how our processes work here at the College. If we can do these things effectively, I think it will make business here at Beacon College much more successful.”

Prior to serving at SAGU, Gore served as vice president for finance and CFO at Kilgore College in Texas and associate vice president for finance at Southeastern University in Lakeland, Florida. While at Southeastern University, Gore managed the areas of accounting, payroll, accounts payable, and student accounts. He was also responsible for the financial management of numerous construction projects including a football stadium, science building, and other projects in excess of $40 million in construction and $25 million in new tax-exempt bond financing.

Gore said he looks forward to applying that experience to serve Beacon’s mission-oriented culture.

He received a bachelor of science degree in business administration from the University of Texas at Austin, a master of divinity degree from the Assemblies of Theological Seminary, a Project Management Certificate from Missouri State University, a master of business administration degree from Missouri State University, and a doctorate in business administration from the University of South Florida.

“As a finance professional, I want to see that the work I do is contributing to making a real and positive impact in lives,” Gore said. “The work being done here at Beacon College, helping these students realize their dreams, is an extremely important and critical mission. I’m very excited to be a part of that.”
