Primary Function
The Accounts Receivable VR Specialist will support the senior accounts receivable specialist and report to the director of accounting services. Primary responsibilities will include specific duties in student accounts and financial reporting.
Salary: $45,000
Specific Job Functions
Student Accounts:
- Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) billing, tracking and filing for all Beacon students receiving partial or full VR funding.
- Collections: Prepare and send monthly statements of student accounts for current and prior students with outstanding balances. Prepare and mail collection letters and call/email as required to collect past due balances. Forward uncollectible accounts as needed to outside collection firm.
- Monitor, answer questions, provide documentation for the billing email box.
- Provide documentation for students and VR counselors within Beacon and VR policies.
- Answer phones on a rotating basis with other staff
- Assist the senior accounts receivable specialist as required with student questions, at semester check in for students, after add/drop, making phone calls to collect on accounts.
Financial Reporting:
- Prepare and process daily check deposits. Create and save daily reports, copy and distribute back-up to senior accounts receivable specialist and assistant director of accounting services.
- Create deposit support and daily upload of credit card receipts.
- Preparation and entry of journal entries as assigned.
- Reconciliations as assigned.
Requirements
- Associate degree in accounting or business or equivalent experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook (mandatory)
- High level of attention to detail and organization
- Strong accounting background preferred
- Ability to work in a team environment and deal appropriately with student population.
